Scenic and Cultural Walk on Table Mountain
Enjoy an enriching and inspiring day in the Table Mountain National Park in the company of our experienced guides as they reveal the secrets of this World Heritage Site and Floral Kingdom!
Our route starts with an ascent of Table Mountain from the Cape Town side of the mountain to the plateau or table top. Once on top we walk across to the Upper Cable Station area to absorb the breathtaking views of the City Bowl, Table Bay, Robben Island and spectacular Atlantic coastline. From here we walk to Maclears Beacon, at 1087m the highest point on the Table Mountain Range. This vantage point offers panoramic views which stretch across the great expanse of the Cape Flats towards the Cape winelands and country mountains, and on a clear day one can see the tip of Cape Point. From here we slowly meander through valleys and gorges of aromatic and colourful patches of fynbos and alongside fresh mountain streams towards the Back Table of the mountain - an area rich in history and culture. Our day ends with a descent down a ravine of lush indigenous forest rich in birdlife into the magnificent and tranquil Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens.
